December 2011 Research Alert
Happy Holidays! This month we've added seven new studies to the Best Practice Database, which brings our total to 62 research studies published to the Best Practice Database in 2011. This year's studies cut across all of the major functions in pharma, including medical affairs, sales, new product planning, market research, marketing, and product launch.
In December, four of the seven new studies were in the medical affairs functional area, touching on market education and medical science liaisons. The three remaining studies explored critical issues surrounding internal communications, external communications and physician e-sampling.
This month's studies include two that are focused on oncology market education, in particular timing of market education activities and engaging Key Opinion Leaders. The two medical science liaison studies deal with supporting KOLs pre- and post-approval and managing internal activities. The two communications studies explore the tactics and technology platforms that are most effective for external communications and internal communications. The last study reviews current and future trends in physician e-sampling programs. A new report was also published in December that reviews resource benchmarks for U.S. pharmaceutical managed care organizations. The seven new Best Practices, LLC studies listed below under Newly Added Research explore how leading companies have made their operations more effective across these different areas.
