- Studies found that over half of the benchmark class centralizes its software procurement function. Centralization jumps to 78% among companies with annual revenues exceeding $500 million.
- Half of benchmarked companies' software procurement organizations are structured in cross-functional matrices. One-third of the benchmark class use dedicated staff in their software procurement organizations.
Methodology
This research originated from Best Practices, LLC's Internet Benchmarking Exchange service and is based on a survey of 16 companies -- with most companies in IT and others in information services/consulting, manufacturing, transportation and telecommunications.
