This month we added four new studies to the Best Practice Database, the research repository for Best Practices, LLC. Two of the documents are from our new study on developing strong field-based medical teams. These two studies explore key aspects of field medical teams, including activities, staffing levels, salary levels and training. Another new document is from a presentation by Best Practices, LLC CEO Chris Bogan and it focuses on launching products in the specialty care market. The last document is from a new study on the digital marketing function and topics include staffing, budget and future trends.

Best Practices, LLC conducted this benchmarking study to produce industry metrics on key aspects of activities for field-based medical teams, including time spent on key activities, value associated with activities, metrics that are seen as valuable for measuring effectiveness and how often field members visit external stakeholders.

With pharma companies relying on MSLs and HOLs to educate key external stakeholders about their company's products and pipelines, it's vital that organizations have the appropriate salaries, headcounts and training for these two field functions. Best Practices, LLC conducted a research project to provide leaders of field-based medical teams with current metrics on salary and staffing levels for MSLs and HOLs.
