STUDY OVERVIEW

There is currently a great deal of optimism in the pharma industry about harnessing Big Data insights to inform the Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) function. However, one of the challenges faced by HEOR groups is ascertaining the data types and sources that provide the most value for this specialized function/group.

Best Practices, LLC undertook this study to better understand the growing influence of Big Data in the biopharmaceutical sector and how it impacts HEOR. The study offers segmented responses from HEOR participants regarding key benchmarks around what types of data companies are using most frequently as well as the data sources they find most useful. Additionally, the research presents metrics around what internal and external groups request and find the most value in Big Data presentations.

KEY TOPICS

§ Types and Value of Data Used for Big Data Projects
§ Value Rating of Partnerships on Big Data Projects
§ Most frequent requestors of Big Data studies

SAMPLE KEY METRICS

  • Value of listed types of transactional data sources
  • Value of listed types of reported/survey data sources
  • Value of listed types of online data sources
