STUDY OVERVIEW

Over the last decade, Medical Affairs groups have been transitioning from a support function into an independent role, one critical to the success of life-science companies. As part of this change, Medical Affairs groups have been charged with representing the patient voice at the company. This effort broadens medical’s role beyond its traditional focus on HCPs to include capturing patient voice to help develop products that will address patients’ needs.

Best Practices, LLC conducted this benchmarking research to understand Medical Affairs’ roles and responsibilities with patient engagement programs. Medical Affairs leaders can use this study to expand impact and amplify the patient voice within the biopharma organization.
