STUDY OVERVIEW

This 28-page pdf document includes an analysis of delivery performance and cycle time metrics within the supply chain organizations of 27 leading companies. Performance data is included on on-time delivery, performance to commit, fill rate, return rates, promised lead time, actual lead time and supply chain cycle time. Best practices of the surveyed companies and of other supply chain leaders are highlighted and reviewed.

KEY TOPICS

· Delivery performance to request
· Delivery performance by commit
· Fill rate
· Return rate
· Customer order cycle (lead) time – Promised and Actual

SAMPLE FINDINGS

Compared to delivery performance based on customer requests, other companies measure and report their delivery performance based on commitments made at time of ordering. This is the total number of orders delivered on time to the customers commit date, compared to the total number orders. While the request measure looks at how well companies meet the expectation of the customers desires, the commit measure looks at how well companies actually adhere to the delivery dates promised to customers.
